The
first Crusade of Faith took place in the Vila Nova neighborhood,
in Porto Alegre, in March 1989. It lasted 17 nights and 286 people received
Jesus. It was leaded by Isaias Figueiró, so far an evangelist,
and his brother, Paulo Figueiró, ministering praise. At the time,
there used to be only one 15 m round tent, used for counseling and captives
liberation, because the preaching platform would not fit in it (the
reunions took place in opened areas), and it's lighting equipment used
to be very precarious. In the same year there was a crusades in Novo
Hamburgo - when the structure was broadened with one more tent (30x15m),
and Luiz Antônio Lo Iacono joined the team to coordinate counseling
and deliverance - where we had 1390 people giving heir lives to Christ.
And there was also a crusade in Taquari city, where nearly 2650 people
were born again.
In 1990, there were crusades in Novo Hamburgo
(the longest we have ever coordinated, lasting 31 nights), in Cachoeirinha,
twice, and in Taquari once more. Every meeting, we could see the number
of people giving their lives to Jesus, being healed and set free by
the power of God increasing. The team that started the Crusades of
Faith was small, but through the years, it began to grow.
In
1991, five crusades took place in Canoas (Niterói, Guajuviras, Rio Branco,
Vila Cerne and Mathias Velho), and from this year on, the reunions began
to be under the tents.

In
1992, a round tent was used for the first time in a series of six crusades
of 17 nights each (Esteio, Sapiranga, Sapucaia do Sul, Gauíba, Igrejinha
and Butiá). By the end of the year, a total of 102 nights of Gospel
proclamation was reached. In Sapucaia, Luis Fernando de Cristo
and his wife, both circus artist, gave their lives to Jesus and became
part of the Crusades of Faith team, helping to build and maintain
the tents' structures.
In 1993, there were five crusades: Guaíba, Gravataí,
Esteio, Venâncio Aires and Restinga. In these events, we could already
count with TV programs participation and live radio transmission of
the reunions because of the local church mediation, which has always
had a very important role in all crusades.
In
1994, there were three crusades: Alvorada, Sapucaia do Sul (where in
only one night, 168 people were taken to the deliverance tent, due to
spiritual problems) and Santa Maria - almost 1500 people answered the
appeal in one night in this city.
In the year of 1995, there were crusades in Ilha da
Pintada, Pelotas, Porto Alegre (Santa Rosa and Farrapos neighborhoods)
and Rio Grande.
In
1996, the Crusades of Faith structure was broadened because a cart of
three axles was bought to transport the material and because the 36m
of diameter tent was enlarged to 36x47m. In this year, were stage for
the crusades the following cities: Eldorado do Sul, Taquara, Viamão,
Pelotas, Bagé, Rio Grande, Arroio dos Ratos and Porto Alegre (Assis
Brasil Ave. and Sarandi district).
In 1997, a 50 thousands watts generator and two carts (a two axle cart
and a single axle cart) were acquired, but the one we had before was
sold. The places reached by the Crusades of Faith were: Ilha
da Pintada, Sapucaia do Sul, Gravataí (COHAB C and Morada do Vale I)
and Cachoeirinha.
In
1998, up to April, we had had crusades in São José do Norte, Florianópolis
and Eldorado do Sul. From May on, Christian Santiago Lo Iacono
joined the Crusades of Faith as an evangelist (for before he
had helped in other areas of this ministry) and his first crusade was
from May 20th to 23rd, in Vila Rica district - Gravataí. Soon later,
in June, he went back to Gravataí, but in the Morada do Vale I district.
In the second semester of 98, pastor Isaias leaded two more crusades
in Porto Alegre - Porto Seco district - and also in the cities of Alegrete
and Santa Maria.
In the following year, in March, Christian Lo
Iacono leaded his third crusade in Gravataí. From March 30th to April
3rd 1999, the evangelist went back to the Morada do Vale I district.
On April 23rd and 24th, the Crusades of Faith were in Crisciúma
(a city in the south of Santa Catarina State) with Christian, and this
time, the structure used belonged to the local church. In May 1999,
Pastor Isaias Figueiró leaded one more crusade in Porto Alegre, on Sertório
Ave., where there was a special participation of the evangelist Carlos
Annacondia in the last night. From May 25th to the 29th, Christian was
in Pelotas, in COHAB Lindóia district, where there was too much rain,
so the smaller tent had to be replaced.
Nos
meses de junho, julho, agosto e setembro de 1999, o Pr. Isaias Figueiró
esteve no Estado do Rio, respectivamente nas cidades de Itaperuna, Campos
(como tradutor do Ev. Carlos Annacondia), Volta Redonda e Macaé, locais
em que Deus o abençoou tremendamente, havendo a participação do
governador Anthony Garotinho. Em outubro do mesmo ano, a estrutura das
Cruzadas de Fé esteve em Rio Grande com o Ev. Christian Lo Iacono,
onde a lona ficou lotada e as manifestações demoníacas marcaram o evento.
De 13 a 16 do mesmo mês, Christian liderou a Cruzada de Fé em São José
do Norte, e de 27 de novembro a 4 de dezembro, retornou
a Pelotas, onde a equipe pôde presenciar aproximadamente 1.143 decisões
In
June, July, August and September 1999, pastor Isaias was in Rio de Janeiro
state, in the cities of Itaperuna, Campos (translating the evangelist
Carlos Annacondia), Volta Redonda and Macaé, respectively. God tremendously
blessed these places, and the State Governor, Anthony Garotinho, attended
the crusades.
In October, the Crusades of Faith were in Rio Grande with
Christian. There, the tent was crowded and the possessed manifested
in a very strong way. From Oct 13th to 16th, Christian leaded a Crusade
of Faith in São José do Norte, and from Nov 27th to Dec 4th, he went
back to Pelotas. There, in the Fragata district, the team could see
nearly 1143 people deciding for Jesus Christ. This crusade had local
radio live transmission in the last days. From Dec 8th to 12th, in Gravataí
(COHAB C district), Christian inaugurated new tents: one of 26x34m and
another of 15-m diameter (used for liberation).
In
the year 2000, Christian leaded crusades in Alvorada, Porto Alegre (Campo
da Tuca and Restinga), Crisciúma (where 1071 decided for Jesus), Guaíba,
Novo Hamburgo (Canudos), Nova Petrópolis and Canoas (Guajuviras). In
this year, Pastor Isaias Figueiró leaded four crusades: two in Gravataí
and two in Sapucaia do Sul. On Dec 28th, the Crusades of Faith were
able to buy two more carts to transport all the structure.
In 2001, pastor Isaias leaded a crusade in Portão
and another in Canoas. From March 28th to 31st, the Crusades of Faith
were in Arroio dos Ratos with Christian. In Charqueadas, from April
3rd to 7th, Christian had a great experience related to setting the
captives free, for this is a place surrounded by five prisons. From
Apr 24th to 28th, the evangelist Christian leaded one more crusade in
Restinga (a district in Porto Alegre) where there was rain every night.
From May 10th to 13th, he was in Alvorada and from May 29th to June
2nd, there was a crusade in Cachoeirinha (Fátima district), next to
the City Sports Gymnasium, where the power of God operated tremendously.
As we could see, up to now we have had 85 Crusades
of Faith, not mentioning small crusades in gymnasiums: in Salto
(Uruguay), Concórdia (Argentina), Cabo Frio and Itaperuna (Rio de Janeiro
state), Bom Retiro, Nova Petrópolis, São Leopoldo, Santiago, Teotônia,
... This means thousands of people reached by the Gospel, healed, set
free by the power of God, which will keep on manifesting until our Lord
Jesus Christ returns. And you can also be part of it all, becoming a
collaborator with this ministry.
